Glazed Croissants

Glazed Croissants are simply created with store bought croissants and an easy glaze made with a few pantry staples. You can use fresh croissants, but this works best with day old.

I’ve served these by themselves or along with other pastries like my Lemon Raspberry Scones. If you like breakfast recipes then you might love these Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits. We really like them with fresh Raspberry Butter. Nutella Stuffed Croissant French Toast would be another wonderful recipe to make with any croissants that you may have left over from this recipe.

Glazed Croissants for Breakfast or Dessert

My kids are crazy about donuts!  We used to have THE BEST donut shop back in Fort Worth, but have had a hard time finding a great one here in Austin.  There are some great specialty shops, but nothing super fantastic when it comes to classic donuts.
Our grocery store is the next best thing and my boys just love them.  Every now and then they carry these glazed croissants that I grab whenever they are out.  I mean, hello!  A croissant that’s been dipped in a sweet glaze is totally up my ally!

Since they aren’t available all the time, I did what I know best and figured out how to make them myself!  They are very easy to make and take only a few ingredients.  Now I can enjoy them whenever I want which can be very dangerous!

Ingredient List You’ll Need

  • 6 Croissants
  • 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1-2 TBSP Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

How To Make Glazed Croissants

  • Place a cooling rack on top of a baking sheet and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl mix together powdered sugar with milk and vanilla extract.
  • Whisk it until it’s smooth. You want it to be the consistency of pancake batter.
  • Dip each croissant into the glaze on both sides, covering it completely. You can use two forks to help if you don’t want to get your hands sticky.
  • Let the excess drip off over the bowl and place onto the cooling rack. This is where they will continue to drip off a bit more of the glaze.
  • Let them set for 2 hours before serving. They will form a bit of a “crust”.

Enjoy eating these on their own, but you can totally turn these into a fun dessert, too! Split them in half with a serrated knife and fill them with some fresh berries and homemade whipped cream. It’s over the top in all the best ways.
