Fall Is The Best Season
Fall time is my absolutely my favorite time of year.
I love the crisp air.
The aromas of warm cinnamon and apples.
And I most definitely love all the comforting recipes.
These little donut holes are not only yummy and cute. To me they symbolize being a child again! Walking to school bundled up and shuffling my feet through the crunchy leaves on the ground.
Just a simple little sweet treat that you can make with your kids. I know they will love them as much as my boys do!
How To Make Acorn Donut Holes
- Line a half sheet baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.
- Pour the sprinkles into a small bowl and set aside.
- Break each pretzel stick in half and set aside.
- Open up frosting tub and remove the entire foil lining making sure to get all of it.
- Place the frosting in the microwave and heat for 30 seconds.
- Stir and the frosting should be melted. If not, heat for another 15-20 seconds and stir again. You just want it to be a bit more softened and thinner.
- Dip the top third of each donut hole into the melted frosting and gently shake off any excess.
- Immediately dip into the chocolate jimmies being sure to coat all of the frosting.
- Press half a pretzel stick into the center top and set on the parchment lined tray.
- Let them set for about 20 minutes before serving.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
