Easy Rolls

Easy Rolls are one of my favorite things to make. With just flour, salt, water yeast, and a bit of sugar you can make some of the best bread rolls! These are super tender and soft.

I make these rolls 3-4 times a month. They are great to have with my Corn Chowder and my Slow Cooker Pot Roast. I especially love serving them along side my Thanksgiving Turkey.

Homemade Rolls

I used to be very scared of anything that involved yeast.

These rolls are truly simple to make. My youngest really loves them so I’m in the process of teaching him how to make them. He does a pretty good job!!!

Easy homemade rolls spread with butter.

They are pretty heavenly straight from the oven. I mostly love mine simply with butter. However, they are pretty incredible with butter, jam, honey and anything else you can think of!

How To Make Homemade Rolls

  • In a large bowl combine the warm water, yeast and sugar together.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a towel and set aside on the counter for about 6-7 minutes.
  • The mixture should be foamy and bubbly. If it is not, start from the beginning and adjust the temperature of the water.
  • Add in the oil, salt and flour. Start to mix and knead with a spoon or a stand mixture (with dough hook).
  • The dough should be smooth and slightly sticky. Knead for 5 minutes until the dough starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl.
  • Remove dough from the bowl and form into a large bowl. Add 1 tsp of oil in the bowl and place the dough ball back in and roll to cover with oil.
  • Place plastic wrap or towel over the bowl and let it rise for about 1 hour or until double in size.
  • Remove dough to a clean surface and evenly divide dough into 16 piece.
  • Form into a ball and place evenly spaced apart onto a greased baking sheet or 9×13 pan.
  • Lightly cover with plastic wrap or towel and let it rise for another hour or until double in size.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees and and bake for 13-15 minutes.
