If there is just one thing you do today, it’s got to be to share this with the person you know who cannot resist anything peppermint during the holidays. I keep these few ingredients on hand during the month of December so I can quickly whip some of these peppermint s’mores if I need something in a pinch for a Christmas dessert. Cookie exchange? Why am I showing you this artichoke dip while talking about Christmas Day? Because it’s a recipe that I make every year for Christmas Day. It’s actually one on the many appetizers that I make instead of a huge holiday dinner with turkey and mashed potatoes and homemade rolls. Hear me out. A turkey dinner is my most favorite meal on the planet. But I was spending way too much time in the kitchen and not enough time with my family on Christmas Day in order to try to prepare it. So now I make a bunch of different appetizers that are easy to assemble or even create the day before and we snack on those all day long. You’ve got to make this at least once this holiday season. Are you more of a store bought costume fan or do you get a thrill from creating it yourself? This is strictly only my opinion and I’ll be honest. I don’t always live up to my own requirements every year. But on the years that I do, those are my favorite. *Not all three are required at once. 1. Homemade. I know they sometimes get a bad wrap, but I find immense joy in a weird way in torturing myself in trying to make my kids requested costume come to life! I thrive on the smallest details and love how happy it makes them when they wear it. 2. Themes. I LOVE a good theme. And one step above that is a little deep cut theme. One that makes people think a bit. We’ve only matched as a family a few times, but it’s always been a blast pulling it all together. These can definitely be purchased or created. But if you’re going to do it, you better go ALL IN! 3. Inflatable costumes. I simply find them irresistible! So, store-bought or homemade?
