Pigs In A Blanket are always a classic staple when it comes to party food! These are extra special because not only are the mini cocktail sausages wrapped in easy refrigerated crescent dough. They are then topped with a sprinkling of Everything But The Bagel Seasoning Mix. You’ll never want the plain version again!
When I was little I used to think that Pigs In A Blanket were fancy. I don’t know where I got that notion from, but now that I’ve made them for years, I realize they are just humble.
Not only are they easy to make, but they truly are one of the first things to be eaten if they show up to a party.
I even served them to my boys for a super easy lunch. I used to call them Hot Diggity Dogs, because my kids were really into Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!
It’s when I discovered Everything But The Bagel Seasoning from Trader Joe’s that I knew it would just elevate such a simple recipe. If you are a fan of Pigs In A Blanket, then you’ve got to give this a try!
How To Make Pigs In A Blanket
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
- Lightly spray a large baking sheet with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper. I’ve done it both ways and each works great.
- Pop open the crescent dough packages and unroll each tube flat onto the counter or cutting board.
- Separate each triangle and using a knife or pizza cutter, cut it down the middle lengthwise.
- Then place one sausage on the wider end of the dough.
- Roll the sausage up in the dough making sure the end tip is tucked under when placing it on the baking sheet. This will ensure that it doesn’t get too toasty.
- Repeat with the remaining ingredients. Make sure to evenly space them out on the tray.
- In a small bowl whisk the egg together with 2 tablespoons of water.
- Brush egg wash over each pig in a blanket.
- Sprinkle with the Everything But The Bagel Seasoning.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and cool slightly before serving.
Recipes like this are great served hot or even room temperature. Since my kids are a fan, I have even put them in their lunches with a little packet of ketchup. My boys love when I do that!
