Steak Marinade

Steak Marinade has been what we have been living off the last couple of dinners! It helps infuse steak and even tenderizes it all at the same time. Created with a few simple ingredients like soy sauce orange juice and garlic. Items you might already have on hand. I also really like to add citric acid powder to some of my marinades. It adds the right amount of zing to any recipe. If you don’t already have some, you can always use lime juice.

We haven’t always been a steak family, but we have been an easy dinner family for years! My boys frequently request my Cilantro Lime Chicken. It’s another wonderful marinade recipe. These Philly Cheesecakes have been a current favorite and only take minutes to make. We can’t ever get enough of Chicken Taquitos either! They make a great after school snack, too.

Grilling Recipe

This recipe truly could be used to marinate chicken as well! It is pretty universal.

You’ll notice in the recipe it calls for chicken fajita seasoning. To be honest, I used it because it’s what I had on hand at the time. I’ve tried this with beef fajita seasoning and it just wasn’t as great. But it’s something you can totally play around with!

How To Marinade Steak

  • Mix together ingredients until sugar is dissolved.
  • Marinate 4 Ribeye steaks for 1-2 hours in the fridge. I like to use just a freezer gallon baggie to keep it all contained in my fridge. It’s also less dishes to wash at the end of the night.
  • Grill steaks over medium heat, flipping every 2 minutes until internal temperature reaches 140 for medium well.
  • Let the steaks rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
  • *Do not marinate longer than 2 hours. The citric acid will start to break down the meat too much. The same goes for if you choose to use this recipe for chicken. It will make the meat really weird and actually start to cook it. And not in a good way!
