Strawberry Cream Soda is simply made from fresh strawberry puree, club soda and cream. Super straight forward, but a completely delicious recipe that I can’t get enough of!
Strawberry Soda
This is my new favorite drink.
It’s truly the best if you like fruit drinks.
I can’t get enough of it and have been sharing it with my family and friends.
This all came about because it was my turn to host my monthly Bunco group. I was needing something a but more special and wanted to have a fun Italian Soda Bar. Complete with all the different syrups, mix ins and fruit purees. I had Sprite, Dr. Pepper and Club Soda as the base options.
There were a few ladies who came who had never had a mixed soda drink so it was fun to show them how it all worked. Every one enjoyed it and used my suggestions for combinations and even made their own creations.
The Dr. Pepper was the most popular and no one used the Club Soda. In all honesty, I only bought it because I wanted to have a zero calorie base soda in case someone didn’t want all the sugar and carbs.
I had plenty left over and I also had strawberry puree left over. The next day I decided to play around and came up with this Strawberry Cream Soda.
It’s not overly sweet and is balanced out with just the little bit of cream. You can certainly omit it, but I highly suggest you add it. It makes all the difference!
Strawberry Puree
It all starts with a strawberry puree. This is what makes this soda so refreshing.
Strawberry puree is simply made by blending up fresh fruit until it’s fine and liquid-y. Depending on the recipe, I like to add a little sugar to my fruit before I blend it. This helps breaks down the fruit and makes it more smooth.
I like to store mine in a squeeze bottle chilled in the fridge. This way makes it easier to serve up a soda in a quick minute. Any airtight container will work and will last in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. I make mine in smaller batches so it stays fresh.
How To Make Italian Soda
- Fill half of a 16 ounce cup with crushed ice.
- Pour about 1/3 cup of fresh strawberry puree over the ice.
- Pour club soda over the top until it is almost full.
- Next, pour in about 1-2 tablespoons of heavy cream.
- You can gently stir it with a straw. Prevent from over stirring or else you will make your soda flat.
- Top with whipped cream and serve with a straw.
If you are throwing your own get together or party and want fun plastic cups with dome lids, I loved these from Amazon. I only got 50, but if you need 100 for something larger you can get these from Amazon as well.
